Elevating your Home on a Budget
A big misconception about elevating the look of your home is that it takes a lot of money to do so. If you’re looking to take your space to the next level without having to spend an arm and a leg here are six simple tricks you can use:
1. Hide your clutter and keep things tidy. Keeping things organized and clean will be both pleasing to the eye and help decrease stress. Create opportunities for storage, cover up wires and only display things that are meaningful to you. It’s important to remember that it’s more impactful to have fewer high-quality pieces than it is to have many cheaper pieces, especially when it comes to accessories and art!
2. Use clean and energizing scents. Having nice smelling fragrances in a room can set the mood in an instant and make it feel more expensive and elevated. Candles will add a calming and sophisticated ambience to the room as well!
3. Make sure furniture is positioned in a way that brings balance to the room. When furniture is positioned awkwardly it can feel cramped and stressful. Create a layout that allows for easy walkways while also utilizing the space of the room.
4. Incorporate different textures and colors through accessories that are easy to change out like pillows and throws. A simple trick that will make a huge difference is using pillows that have a down feather insert which are a bit heavier and sturdier than a foam pillow. Though they can be a little bit more of an investment, you will be able to switch out the cover instead of having to buy a completely new pillow every time you want to change it up.
5. Painting is also a cost-effective way to refresh your space. Opt for a nice neutral color to brighten up the room or a fun wallpaper for an accent wall. Make sure that whatever color you choose does not overpower the room and cause it to feel closed in.
6. Lighting is a huge factor when it comes to the mood and energy of a space. Make sure you have an adequate amount to brighten the room and choose a comfortable color temperature. Use lamps, recessed lighting and decorative fixtures for a layered lighting look.
These simple budget friendly tips will help refresh your space and transform it into a more elevated atmosphere.
