Moving Away from Traditional to Transitional Style

Fall is around the corner,  and business is booming at Amy Schuermann Interiors!   One particular theme I am seeing with a lot of with new clients is trend towards a cleaner line, yet comfortable look.  A lot of my clients have initially furnished their homes very traditionally with pieces they have found off the floor in furniture stores that perhaps all "match"  but unfortunately are now looking dated.  As we become a bit more experienced and  sophisticated in our tastes,  a lot people hire me to update and "customize"  their look.  As my friend, Tori Tanzer,  owner of Sara Benjamin say, "We try not to be "Trendy"  but "Trend Aware".  That is exactly my goal.   I try to bring to my clients  cleaner lined pieces that update their space....i.e.  furniture, window treatments, rugs, etc, while still integrating those furniture items they love and want to hang on to.  It is a fun and rewarding process!
