Why Designing Your Outdoor Space Matters

With summer almost here, outdoor living is a must! An interior designer can help you here, as furnishing your patio is very similar to your living room.    

Consider how you live, entertain and overall traffic flow. If you already have furniture, consider additional things you need or don't need.  For example, do you need an outdoor bar for parties or a chaise lounge in which to read and relax?   Don't forget lighting!  A beautiful outdoor sconce(s) on a dimmer adds not just light but ambiance which is everything in the evening.....how about a couple of tall heat lamps?  Also, invest  in quality candle holders and accessories which only enhance the atmosphere.  

Other accessories to consider:  foliage such as larger and smaller plants in nice containers, as well as interesting updated pillows. If in the budget, talk to your designer about potential upgrades such as a stone outdoor fireplace or slate/stone flooring.
